Attention CORE Members:
If you wish to join
an outing, please
contact the event coordinator to register by email or phone and
provide your phone or Cell number. The event coordinator may
need to contact you at the last minute if conditions change.
AND be considerate. If you
can't make a outing that you have registered for, please phone
the event coordinator and let him or her know, so they won't be
waiting for you in the parking lot.
If you are unfamiliar with how the
Event Calendar works, here is a brief reminder guide:
a. Select the View Calendar button
above
- this takes you to a
Members-only login screen
b. Enter the CORE membership user
name and password. This changes each year, and members are
emailed the password upon signup.
If you have forgotten the password,
please contact:
mailbox@corehike.org
c. Once the Calendar application
opens, select the month and year at the top of the calendar page
(it will default to current month).
d. Each trip entry will be
summarized in the calendar day-boxes as to destination (Title),
duration and type, and coordinator's name. There may be several
events on the same day, so choose the one you are interested in.
e. Move your rodent* over the event
and select (left click). This will activate a popup window with
further details, meeting place and time (optional) and event
leader contact info. If you wish to join the outing, please
contact the event coordinator to register by email or phone and
provide your phone or Cell number. If you don't
register, the co-coordinator can't contact you if conditions
change or the event gets cancelled. Or worse, the event might be
overbooked, and you will not be able to participate. Some events
have limited spots available.
e. Review the
Hiker's
Participants Guide. This has lots of good info on trail
etiquette and preparation.
* This is a Lagomorph,
not a rodent.

Did you know that a rabbit is a Lagomorph,
and not a rodent. One of the differences is that
Lagomorphs have 4 front incisors in their upper jaw,
while rodents have 1 pair of incisors in both upper and
lower jaws.

Attention event coordinators:
When submitting a new event: If you would like to have an
E-mail notification sent to fellow members, please enter the
broadcast
E-mail address
(see "How
to Post Events" page in Members-only section)
in the field under "Email notification" section in the entry
form and click on the adjacent checkbox.
Note: If you're entering an event
into the calendar, please use the E-mail notification
feature only for the initial announcement and subsequent
IMPORTANT changes. Thanks for your cooperation!
